Many may not know my background in fashion spans over 20 years as my early 20’s I was an Editor of a Magazine, and eventually I would launch my own Dot com that would include its very own magazine that would garner media and press in Entrepreneur Magazine, the Washington Post, the Washington Business Journal, Times Union, and other smaller magazines. All of this at the age of 24. My Dot Com would bust post 9/11 and I’d head off to India, practice Tantra and put my love for fashion design aside. It was always there though, a little secret knowing desire to create, or collect, unique pieces of fashion, like art. The artist side of me came out much later in life, once I tapped into a lot of inner child work, chakra rebalancing and meditations, that I was more an artist all along than even a writer, perhaps. It started with painting, and eventually, as I allowed myself to not be judgemental of myself or a perfectionist ( that Virgo tendency) and simply “ play”, that fashion designing seemed to appear again. It goes to show though that once your chakras are open and regularly tuned up by your energy routine, ALL areas of your life will be enhanced, not just your sexual energy !
I enjoy customizing or re-imagining a piece and re-purposing it into a one of a kind piece that showcases your unique individuality. I am still studying, at length online, various technical aspects and a large study is still ahead of me. I have an interest in encouraging mentally ill people to tap into their creative side of their illness to create, perhaps in art or design, and do it at their own pace, to calm their inner spirit, as it has done for mine. Perhaps this will turn into a co-op studio in the USA and Marrakech, helping those who may otherwise consider themselves disabled to some degree, but still wish to create or work at their own level at that time. It is all still in the planning phases but I am launching my own online store here soon, and will wholesale to interested boutiques. Below is a sample of some of my completed works which is constantly updated via my online store which you’re welcome to purchase items from at Poshmark.com, search FarrahNayka2. If you have an interest in something personally made and customized for you by a Dakini, let me know via email via my Contact Me page. With love and passion! Farrah Nayka |
